I came across Francesco Galvani, CEO of Deep Marketing, by chance, on Facebook in January 2021. His content struck me immediately as extremely interesting and a world away from the usual marketing chatter (he ranges across evidence-based marketing, artificial intelligence and its real impact, “mindfucking”, cognitive biases, finance for ordinary people, economic and social forecasts based on data series, and more). I greatly appreciate his approach, which combines rigour with the questioning of preconceived ideas and comfort zones. He also has a good dose of humour. One of the battles Francesco cares most about, and which struck me for the way he would not give an inch even in the face of organised shitstorms against his agency, is the one against the “fuffaguru” of marketing. The greatest damage done by these individuals and their agencies falls above all on a fragile audience, largely small business owners, who are probably already fighting some financial or even existential difficulty. The subject became so important that Galvani wrote a book about it, a book I would call necessary, and which I obviously bought and studied. All of this to say that, before entrusting my business’s new website and its marketing strategy to anyone, I had the chance to get to know Galvani’s thinking and his way of working for about a year and a half. The site Deep Marketing built for me is simply functional and BEAUTIFUL. Given my particular business and its unscrupulous competition, I have suffered several hacking attempts, including DDoS and defacing.
